Need Accommodations?

Testing Off Campus?

If you're testing with an off-campus proctor and need an accommodation other than extra time, check with your proctor ahead of time to make sure they can provide the necessary accommodations (and be prepared to share your OAS accommodation letter).

The FSU Testing Center is equipped to provide extra-time accommodations for qualified testers. If you need testing accommodations other than extra time on your exam, coordinate with your instructor or visit the Office of Accessibility Services website for information on testing through the OAS Exam Lab. To ensure you receive appropriate, extra-time accommodations, follow the instructions below for the type of exam you're taking.

FSU Course Exam

If you require accommodations other than extra time, you will need to coordinate testing with your instructor or through the OAS Exam Lab.

A letter of accommodation issued by the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) is required for FSU students requesting extra-time accommodations for a course exam. You will need to share your letter of accommodation with your instructor to receive accommodations. If your test is being administered online (ie, through Canvas), make sure your instructor has adjusted their test settings for you (ie, increasing the exam duration).

TESTING WITH AN ONLINE PROCTOR? If your instructor is using an online proctoring service to proctor your exam, visit our Using an Online Proctor page for technical requirements, user guidelines, support information, and frequently asked questions.

Non-FSU Course Exam

If you are a distance learning student from another institution, follow your institution's guidance on verifying accommodation eligibility. Contact us at testing@fsu.edu for further instructions.

Modern Language Placement Exam

If you are eligible and approved by the Office of Accessibility Services for a time accommodation, please send us your accommodation letter via email at testing@fsu.edu or bring a hard copy of the letter on the exam day to make the time adjustments prior to starting your test.

Certiport Exam

See the Certiport website for instructions on testing accommodations. If you receive an accommodation from Certiport for extra time, you can take the exam at the FSU Testing Center. Other accommodations may be handled differently. Be sure to let us know at testing@fsu.edu as soon as you have an approved accommodation request so we can plan accordingly.

CLEP Exam

If you are eligible and approved by the Office of Accessibility Services for a time accommodation, please send us your accommodation letter via email at testing@fsu.edu or bring a hard copy of the letter on the exam day to make the time adjustments prior to starting your test.

Need a Letter of Accommodation?

If you are an FSU student and do not yet have a letter of accommodation, visit the OAS website and follow instructions to apply for services. After working with you to determine eligibility and level of service, OAS will issue you a letter of accommodation that describes the specific testing accommodations you are to be provided.
